Welcome to José Moura’s Wine List 2025, a portfolio of exquisite selections from choice chateaux, domaines, and bodegas throughout France, Spain, Italy, and California.
Every year we dedicate our wine list to the working people because that is where we come from, who we work with, and who we do business with: from local growers in Europe, to local bars from the Lower East Side of Manhattan, to El Condado in San Juan. Our business is to create, nurture, and grow that process, and those relationships with farmers, creators, innovators, distributors, and educators.
For many small businesses, especially the trend-setting and fine restaurants, lounges, and upscale bars you normally find our wines in, the 2020 pandemic created a dramatic, paradigm-shift. Since then, there has been a cautious bounce-back in local hospitality, and the output of wine-producing countries are a testament.
However, the pandemic recovery crossed into new inflation concerns over basic goods, especially affecting farmers and working people. If that was not enough, climate change has also crossed over from science and political discourse to new challenges in vineyards and farms around the world. Supply chains, storefront vacancies, remote work, and overall consumer fears also contribute to a new reality few economists could imagine.
This new normal comes with the investments and promises of artificial intelligence, robotics, and other technologies, as we expand the narrative of the human adventure.
At the same time, we are hopeful that the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine may be approaching a peaceful conclusion this year. Peace is the way we survive all the natural and man-made calamities ahead.
Our Wine List for 2025 is dedicated to peace, and our brothers and sisters around the world who continue to march forward with peace and love in their heart and mind, despite the madness around them. It is especially dedicated to the first responders, the folks who work to keep the rest of us safe so we can continue to dream, build, and march forward to a better world, and the worlds beyond.
Our need to transcend conventions continues to drive us forward, as we constantly look to make course corrections when needed.
